What a great experience! We stayed in the Carriage House. Very clean, comfy beds and great location. We had dinner at the NuWray Restaurant and highly recommend the filet and the duck! Both were fantastic!! The breakfast brunch was also really good! The staff were all first class. The history of the hotel just made the stay even better! Can’t wait to stay here again!!

A Charming Stay at The NuWray Hotel – Where History Meets Hospitality Tucked away in one of the most adorable towns I've ever visited, The NuWray Hotel is a gem that blends rich history with modern comfort. From the moment you step through its doors, you're greeted not just by staff, but by the echoes of a bygone era—lovingly revived through one of the most impressive historical revocations I’ve seen in a hotel setting. Historical Charm The NuWray Hotel isn’t just a place to sleep; it’s an experience. Housed in a meticulously restored building, the hotel celebrates its past with original architecture, antique furnishings, and thoughtful design details. The renovation strikes that rare balance—preserving old-world elegance while offering contemporary luxury. You feel transported, yet completely at ease. Room Amenities Our room was a blend of vintage charm and upscale convenience. Hardwood floors, high ceilings with wooden beams and exposed brick, set the historical tone, while plush bedding, fast Wi-Fi, a coffee, ice and water station right outside our room, and an amazing HUGE rainfall shower brought everything into the modern day. Thoughtful touches—like local bath products and luxury towels—made the stay feel personalized and warm. Food & Drink The on-site restaurants and bars were another highlight. Breakfast was hearty and fresh, and included in your stay. The dinner menu was a delightful surprise, offering elevated comfort food with a twist. Don’t skip the green onion appetizer at the main dining room or the amazing wine selection next door at the Carriage House. Both places were filled with locals so you know this place is amazing! The Locals What truly sets the experience apart, though, are the locals. Friendly, curious, and full of pride for their town, every interaction—from the gentleman I met at breakfast that has lived here his entire—felt genuine. He shared his appreciation for the owners who were so helpful after the hurricane by opening up the hotel and feeding workers and volunteers during that tragic time. It’s clear that the community has embraced The NuWray Hotel as more than just a hotel; it’s a revitalized cultural hub. The Town The town itself is absolutely adorable. Think of a town square in the middle with historic shopfronts, weekend events, and the kind of small-town friendliness that feels straight out of a novel. Whether you're wandering into artisan boutiques, hiking a scenic trail, or simply sitting in the square with a pastry, there's a deep sense of calm and connection here. Final Thoughts: The NuWray Hotel is more than a place to stay—it's a celebration of history, hospitality, and heart. Whether you're a history buff, a weekend wanderer, or someone looking for a meaningful escape, this place—and the town around it—is a perfect retreat. Looking forward to our next visit!

We were fortunate enough to be able to go to the open house of the new newly renovated Nu Wray inn. Such a treat. All the themed rooms look exquisite the new restaurant inside the hotel has us ready for the breakfast buffet. We can't wait for the speak easy located in the basement to open. Such a rich history. We are so glad the owners James and Amanda took such care and attention to detail to every aspect of this treasure.

Our hotel, NuWray Hotel was featured in Our State Magazine. The hotel was completely renovated by James and Amanda Keith who did a painstaking renovation. Every surface was touched with luxury finishes. We enjoyed rocking on the front porch watching the action in the town square, as well as drinks and music in the back courtyard. We also enjoyed hiking and traveling in the nearby area.

Such a charming hotel!! The details in the restoration of this beautiful hotel are fantastic. This is the second time we’ve stayed here and both rooms were so charming. Love the bathroom tiles and antique furniture. The staff is extremely kind and accommodating. Love the water and wine glasses on each floor at the coffee and water stations. Nice hospitality. The food was great in the restaurant for breakfast (included with room) and though I didn’t eat dinner, the menu looked great. The wine bar next door is owned by the same family and it’s also outstanding food with super cool vibe. I just LOVE this super cute hotel, it’s great vibe, and very comfortable and charming rooms. HIGHLY recommend if you’re looking for a peaceful place to stay in this sweet town.

My husband and I recently had the privilege of being guests in the hotel as well as the restaurant. Everything was immaculately clean and the attention to detail was superb When we arrived the concierge Candler was friendly and efficient. He walked us to our room. Even the rooms had homemade pottery nameplates. The linens were sooooo soft! The food in the restaurant was delicious and Heather our server was excellent, friendly, and efficient. We would highly recommend it!!

Was in town for a family reunion and wanted to check out renovations, we have stayed in the past and hold the Nuwray seat to our hearts. It did not disappoint. Was clean and beautiful..we rented 2 rooms.. one for my mom in a wheelchair and it worked just great. Staff was above and beyond helpful. Very pleased. Will be going again.

Superb stay this weekend at the NuWray!! Meticulous attention to everything you could want (loved the little sound machine in our room!) super clean room with huge comfy bed and fluffy towels, extremely friendly staff, extremely cozy and thoughtful decor. Loved the restaurant and bar in the lobby too - excellent cocktails (highly recommend the yellow jacket), dinner, and breakfast! Everyone on staff was so welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay the best! Shout out to our amazing waiter, William, for getting us evening coffee before we headed to the Dark Sky observatory for late-night star gazing! We stayed on the first floor and the only thing to be aware of is you'll hear folks walking above you (nature of a historic hotel!) so book on the top floor if you think that might bother you. Can't say enough great things about this place and can't wait to stay again!
